Phlebotomists are sought-after commodities in the state of Alaska, which means this extensive phlebotomy training program strives to meet all of the requirements of the national certification exam. There are three options for this course – one lasting a matter of weeks, another hosted on weekends for 6 months, and another in the evenings only. These courses are accommodating, and students can plan their training as phlebotomists around other obligations.

Also known as phlebotomy technicians, students have access to hands-on clinical training in top-of-the-line laboratories in clinics, hospitals, and emergency medical centers. Classroom learning includes research on medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, basic life support, basic first aid, and medical office software. There is also information on how to maintain electronic health records for patients, as well as interact using compassion towards nervous, scared, or annoyed patients.

Students who complete the courses can take their national certification exams immediately following completion.
