Description: | Phlebotomists are often associated with drawing blood and processing bloodwork, but these knowledge professionals are an integral must-have in the medical field. Their close working relationships with doctors and nurses makes phlebotomists the proverbial icebreakers and soothers for nervous, scared, anxious, or uncooperative patients. Their compassion, gentleness, and communicative skills go a long way toward making patients feel comfortable while having blood drawn or capillaries collected. This particular phlebotomy training course is comprised of 135 hours, spread over 27 classes, and 7 weeks. There are classroom lectures and lab studies, as well as clinical hands-on experience that is required for students to successfully pass the national certification exam (included in tuition). After graduation and certification, new phlebotomists are eligible to work at outpatient care centers, medical clinics, nursing homes, blood banks, and doctor offices. |

Description: | This 10 to 12 week phlebotomy training program is a comprehensive go-to for phlebotomists-to-be who cannot find the months-worth of time to break into the medical field. The program prepares students for the national phlebotomy certification exam; an exam that graduates are eligible to take immediately after the training course ends. As graduation approaches, students have to demonstrate the skills they learned throughout the program, such as basic knowledge of phlebotomy, medical terminology, infection control, and safety procedures. This program also has a strong focus on interpersonal communication skills, as compassionate interaction is a necessity when tending to patients of every age, mental state, and mood. When graduates pass the national certification exam to become full-fledged phlebotomists, they will be capable of legally working in medical facilities, blood banks, and nursing homes across the nation. |
