The Doña Ana Community College in New Mexico offers a phlebotomy certification class. Within the health care setting, if you are a holder of a certification in phlebotomy, you are known as a phlebotomist. Phlebotomists work alongside lab technicians to help physicians in diagnosing disorders and diseases.

In order to complete the phlebotomy program in this college, the phlebotomy student must complete at least 50 extractions aside from the 30 clinical hours and class hours.
