Turtle Mountain Community College’s Phlebotomy Program’s main mission is to deliver a curriculum-centered and high quality education in both phlebotomy practice and theory. Through the college’s phlebotomy program, students can be assured of their qualifications thereby enabling them to work in a variety of medical settings as an entry level phlebotomist.
Since phlebotomists are important members of the medical team, they need to be adept at collection of blood and non-blood samples while ensuring that the samples taken are of the right quality for the purpose of diagnostics and lab analysis.
A lot of medical personnel rely on the phlebotomists’ capability since they are on the front line. They work face to face with patients and help create the patient’s first impression of the medical team. Further, other medical staff (i.e. physician offices, blood banks, hospitals, clinics, and reference labs) rely on the quality of samples taken by the phlebotomist. |
